Hansraj Morarji Public School

Hansraj Morarji Public School is a combined primary, junior and senior school in Mumbai, India. It was founded in 1939 by the Bai Kabibai and Hansraj Morarji Trust. The foundation stone was laid by the Deputy Prime Minister, Sardar Patel.

Campus

The school campus of around 50 acres (202,000 m²) is located at the foot of Gilbert Hill, near Juhu Beach. It is set up in a huge educational campus set up by Late Shri Kanhaiyalal Munshi. Munshi Nagar now has many educational institutes.The Hansraj Morarji Public School campus includes the main school buildings, one hostel, dispensary, music room, staff quarters, library, theater hall and a science laboratory. The campus has Rajhans Vidyalaya a CBSE affiliated senior secondary school, and Rajhans Balvatika the feeder preprimary school for Hansraj and Rajhans. The school has huge cricket ground, basketball courts, football ground, tennis courts and gymnasium.

The Principal is Mrs Anjana Prakash, and the Rector is Mr. B.C.Kumawat. The Supervisor of college is Mr.Radhe Shyam Yadav, and the Supervisor of school is Mrs.Jayshree Desai.

The school started a Junior college in July 2008. The college provides Science and Commerce based streams along with vocational course for Information Technology.

Affiliation

The school prepares students for Secondary Certificate Examinations (SSCs) held by the Mumbai Divisional Board of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. Both Gujarati language also french language has been taught,streams and English language streams were available earlier but today the school is a completely English Medium School. Apart from the subjects defined in the curriculum, many other activities like Maths Club, Drama Club, Environment Club etc are a part of the student life.

The Green Brigade Club is the school's Environment Club. Mrs. Satjot Kaur Duggal (a French and Science teacher) founded the club. However she left the school in 2005. Since then the club is led by Mrs. Mitali Mehta (a Mathematics, Science and E.V.S. teacher) in the faculty. The club won the Green School Awards in 1996. The club won the third prize in 2006-07 in an inter-school competition of KP West Ward which included schools from all over the suburb.

Diamond Jubilee

The school celebrated its sixtieth year (Diamond Jubilee) in 2000.
